Week 5 Brainypics Theme: Halloween

I ABHOR Halloween so much that it makes me barf.

I ABHOR Halloween so much that it makes me barf.

We definitely do not share the sentiment in this classic Brainypic. In fact, we want to celebrate this super fun holiday. We’re looking for Brainypics with tricks, treats, great costumes (not so great costumes), pumpkin carving, candy gobbling & more.

We’ll pick the 5 best Brainypics submitted between Monday and Sunday at noon to compete for our cash prize. Even if you aren’t picked, remember that you can earn an iTunes song for every 5 Brainypics you create. Good luck!

Week 4 Brainypics Winners

Last week was a great turn out for Week 4 of our Brainypics contest. We received over 200 new flashcards! And many of you went flat-out bonkers with the TV theme. Well done and thank you.

Picking the winners was tougher than it’d ever been before. Here they are, helping you learn 5 vocab words to help you prep for the SAT & ACT.

Week 4 Brainypics will be reviewed at Noon on Sunday

I realize this is late notice, but to give ourselves time to review all the Brainypics, we’re going to start looking them over at noon tomorrow. Please try to get yours in before then! Otherwise, you can save your energy for this upcoming week’s Brainypics contest, the theme of which will be announced at that time.

Thank You, Youth Voices

Last night, I had the fun opportunity to sit and chat with Paul Allison and Susan Ettenheim of YouthVoices. We talked about Brainyflix and what we’ve been up to this past year (whoa it’s been that long) and more generally, happenings in education and technology.

Please check out their site. I think their forums and podcasts are pretty interesting. Kids speak openly and freely with their peers on the issues that matter to them, much more-so than other websites, and anyone can participate. For sure, those are things that Brainyflix can stand behind.
